- RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, is a web format used to publish frequently updated blog entries, news headlines, audio, video, and more—in a standardized format. Your most avid customers can also stay on top of changes to your catalog by subscribing to your store’s feeds. Another great thing about this is that you don’t have to send an unsubscribe email; users can simply remove the feed from their aggregator- or news reader. Select RSS from the footer of Shopit. Once you are here, you may select a number of different categories that you may want to keep in touch with.
- Google Alerts is another great way to keep informed about the latest web, news pages, blogs, comprehensive, video, and groups of your choice. Google Alerts will email you everytime your keywords show up somewhere on the web. Search any terms you like; ‘Shopit’, ‘ecommerce’, ’social media,’ are some of our favorites, so we can stay in the know! You can even chose the frequency you’d like them sent; as they happen, once a day, or once a week.
- Twitter is a micro-blog service that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.
